In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our Louisville, KY facility. This position will begin as a hybrid role (onsite/remote) but will ultimately report onsite.

As a Mechanical Engineering I, you will:
  • Provide production support in a manufacturing environment for complex system machining, assembly and test.
  • Conduct and support subsystem and system integration and verification activities and manufacturing planning.
  • Ensure technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.
  • Research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products and systems such as instruments, structures, mechanisms, and other devices.
  • Use advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic engineering design, development, analysis, experimentation, test and/or product assurance tasks of limited complexity for assigned portions of a project. Ensures tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Apply basic engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a limited portion of a technical project.
  • Develop and write technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations.
  • Perform basic technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs.
  • Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications and product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems and implement solutions of limited complexity.
  • Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety policies and rules.
  • Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related degree
  • Entry level knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant technical field of specialization
  • Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines (CAD)
  • Ability to solve basic technical design and development problems
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to obtain appropriate Security Clearance


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems (CREO Parametric)
