Program Manager I

Job Description
Support Sustainment program within the Advanced Electronic Warfare Solutions (AEWS) Product Area. The position will be responsible for day to day support/oversight of selected Programs that may include field return repairs, spares, Engineering support or modification efforts. The Program Manager will support program planning, executing and proposal activities. This position will be responsible for cost, schedule, and technical performance associated with each contract and will directly interface with customers, suppliers, and internal functions/stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support matrixed teams of functional and support specialists throughout the program execution and capture process.

• Coordinate and manage the assigned project(s) to comply with cost, schedule and technical requirements and established company practices in order to meet project commitments.

• Provided customer communication including program status reporting and conducting program reviews.

• Review and monitor metrics on the projects and provide support as required to program leadership.

• Manage risks and opportunities.

• Conduct bid reviews and phase reviews.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
• Typically a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of experience in operations, technical, and / or program teams through phases of the lifecycle, or equivalent combination of education and experience for defense programs

• Experience integrating scope, schedule, and budget for the successful execution of program objectives.

• Working knowledge of risk and opportunity management, defense contract types, and partnering with Finance to apply Earned Value Management techniques.

• Ability to support a diverse matrixed team comprised of solution architects, engineers, and subject matter experts to develop compelling, competitive solutions for customers.

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, industry partners, and teammates.

• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively build and lead teams.

• Excellent oral and written communications skills in order to express complex technical/operational concepts to customers, superiors, and staff.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • PMP Certification is preferred
