Senior Healthcare Analyst, Data Scientist

Job Summary

Provides senior level analytical support for wide range of projects including but not limited to clinical program design and evaluation. Explores new features for predictive models and monitors performance. Develops, documents and ensures accuracy of work.

Job Responsibilities
  • Designs intermediate/complex level studies, models, reports, and analyses.
  • Pulls and stages complex data sets.
  • Analyzes data or develops models using intermediate/complex level techniques.
  • Participates in and may lead communications with clients (internal and external) and vendors.
  • Uses analytical tools such as SAS in diverse data analyses.
  • Uses IDC9/10, CPT4, NDC, lab data, and other clinical fields in diverse data analyses.

Basic Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or Associate of the Society of Actuaries credential with at least 3 years of experience -or- Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of experience - or - High School Diploma/GED and at least 8 years of experience. Experience should be in healthcare research or analytics. Degree should be in a healthcare or analytics related field such as statistics, epidemiology, mathematics, economics, social or actuarial sciences.
  • At least 3 years of experience manipulating complex data sets.
  • Experience with advanced quantitative methods.
  • Experience contributing to small analytical projects from conceptualization through completion.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Intermediate level experience with SAS programming or comparable.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics or related computational field
  • Experience working with healthcare or pharmacy data a plus
  • Experience with open source data science and statistical packages (Azure Databricks, Spark, Python, R)
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Experience presenting and reporting on analytical results to appropriate internal stakeholders including senior management.
