Material Control Lead

ROLE SUMMARY

The purpose of this role is to provide guidance and oversight of aseptic material flow including Kanban, Supermarket, NHSD Assembly, and Filling. Responsible for performing ERP transactions and maintaining inventory accuracy and concurrent reporting of activities in compliance with cGMP's and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitors specific results, and improve identified process opportunities using Right First Time (RFT) and Lean principles
  • Monitors Kanban pull system to ensure material availability is maintained as optimum levels.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy is maintained at all times
  • Performs production receipt and direct issue transactions to support optimum process flow through clean and prep, monitors Aseptic WIP level inventory and consumption in support of NHSD and Filling operations
  • Performs cycle count activities to ensure inventory accuracy at prescribed intervals
  • Composites new or revises departmental SOPs as required.
  • Reports any significant gaps that may affect downstream production activities to appropriate Operations Manager/TL on duty.
  • Trains new operators on expectations regarding material flow; provides feedback and coaching to operators and general guidance to others.
  • Maintain communications with MRCs for batch accountability and Planning for schedule adjustments and MQA for any quality issues/concerns.
  • Works with project teams to develop production related documentation, user requirements and to execute capital related activities.
  • Assists the Warehouse Operations Manager with special projects and other duties as assigned.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Associates Degree or HSD + 5 years related Inventory Management experience
  • Pharmaceutical background preferred, not required
  • Prior experience in a union shop setting is helpful.


SKILLS
  • Aseptic operations experience desired, will require to become gown qualified and work in the Aseptic Core
  • Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills in English required. Good verbal communication and ability to coach and provide guidance to others.
  • Computer Skills: Computer literate, with skills in managing Microsoft Applications, PLS, Trackwise.
  • Reasoning Ability: Demonstrated reading comprehension and writing proficiency as levels that meets 'role' and /or 'test' requirements. Ability to effectively communicate within a diverse group resulting in desired outcomes. Proven record of problem solving, decision making skills and application of process improvement tools.
  • Self-starter, team player, with strong interpersonal and coaching skills


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities include ability to adjust focus.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have the ability to multi-task across multiple competing priorities and requirements. Note that these activities may not be time bound to core hours at the site.
  • Must have the ability to manage time effectively to meet strict performance deadlines.
  • Must be able to work beyond the hours typically defined as a "regular" workday, which may or may not include weekends and holidays.
