Specific Job Description

This position is for and Electrical Engineer 4 for the Electric Plant Instrumentation and Controls Group in the A4W Reactor Plant Planning Yard. This group supports ShipAlt development, life cycle maintenance, obsolescence resolution, and fleet support via LAR resolution for the electric plant distribution and controls network in the A4W Propulsion Plant. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the overall project management of the design, build, and execution of a ShipAlt for the Electric Plant Control Network (EPCN). Frequent interface with the engineering group and other project managers and representatives at NAVSEA 08, Naval Nuclear Laboratories, and BPMI concerning technical resolutions, cost, and scheduling is required.

Basic Qualifications

9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have an understanding of design and development of electrical network hardware and software and knowledge and experience in project management.
