About the job:

Central Utilities is looking for a skilled Facilities Technician to join our team. As a Facilities Technician, you will perform technical tasks in support of engineering and maintenance activities involving the construction, design, specification, startup and operation of the facility's mechanical and electrical systems.

Primary Responsibilities included but not limited to:
  • Assist in conducting routine and non-routine maintenance on various facilities systems
  • Create assets, job plans, and set up PMs in FMS
  • Respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid and accurate situational assessments, and troubleshoot system components
  • Provide technical support for 24-hour operations team; Willingness to handle onsite call-in situations after hours
  • Utililize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) program for the organization.
  • Track maintenance work order compliance and perform trending on failure modes to implement reliability improvements, system optimizations and cost savings including evaluating effectiveness of PM frequencies and job plans in accordance with TI's Maintenance Strategy Program.
  • Review maintenance procedure documentation and in-field execution to ensure industry best practices are in place, standardized and documented properly with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Review asset data for accuracy and work with appropriate stakeholders to make updates as needed.
  • Manage turn-key equipment maintenance suppliers. Coordinate preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance work and provide guidance on maintenance best practices and TI expectations in the field. Hold regular reviews with TI and supplier management to discuss performance.
  • Review, draft, improve and implement standard operation procedures (SOP) on all related systems


Job-specific skills and experience required:
  • Computer/software skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, FMS, SCADA, SAP, PowerPoint, SharePoint and AutoCAD
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must have technical background in the maintenance arena with hands-on experience
  • Be willing to put Safety and Reliability above all other factors Successful candidate characteristics:
  • Self-starter requiring little direction to identify and solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface professionally and effectively with all levels
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills Qualifications and experience
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and repair knowledge and for various pumps, fans, chillers
  • Should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related experience
