Agile Coach

Role Value Proposition:

As a member of Global Technology Services (GTS) Execution Excellence team, you will help accelerate the next phase of MetLife's Agile Transformation! Our team provides a leadership role in the Enterprise evolution to Agility. We strive to make Agile easy. We set out to do this by; targeting Agile transformation to the right work, preparing our talent through progressive just in time training for practitioners and coaches and lastly, measuring, accelerating and amplifying maturity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • This role will mainly support the launching and coaching of new Agile Teams or ARTs (team of agile teams).
  • Coach all key stakeholders in a single portfolio/value stream by directly observing activities; providing general and role-based support, coaching and training; and helping raise and solve impediments towards business agility
  • Preparing, planning, training, launching and coaching Agile Release Trains (ARTs) or up to 150 contributors
  • Coach and inform leaders and executives within the organization on the opportunities and benefits of applying Agile/DevOps principles across the entire organization
  • Acts as a change agent to adopt Agile/DevOps practices and tooling inside Technology groups by coaching, facilitating and mentoring diverse teams in the adoption of Agile Development principles and practices

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to influence change at the organization level to form productive relationships quickly
  • Scrum (CSM / CSPO) and/or SAFe Certifications (SSM, RTE, SP, SPC)
  • 4+ years related experience as a project team member and/or experience in Agile software development or other IT functions including coaching on Agile methodologies.
  • 6+ years of iterative or Agile-like development experience
  • Excellent presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.

  • Experience working in a scaled agile framework (SAFe)
  • Knowledge of specific technology/software development and extensive understanding of business operations, strategies and objectives.
  • Experience with Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Rally)
  • Excellent knowledge of Agile techniques including Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming
  • BA/BS in related field
