The core mission of Optum Connect is to provide end-to-end Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and core administrative Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services to the commercial market. The purpose of the DR Lead position is to manage the day-to-day operations of a DR program. Several duties will include DR plan management and facilitation, recovery exercises, project contribution, audit and compliance, and process and procedural maintenance. This position requires a proven subject matter expert with demonstrated competency in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and IT Service Management methods and concepts.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leading infrastructure and application Disaster Recovery plan development and maintenance
  • Supporting the development, scheduling, and facilitation of Disaster Recovery exercises for infrastructure and application teams
  • Supporting maintenance and updates to the Business Continuity Management System in place to facilitate the DR program
  • Participating in project meeting calls to provide guidance on environments/products/services that may require recovery capability
  • Working closely with Business Continuity, as well as business and application teams to gather requirements that contribute to recovery capability and right-size solutions
  • Ensuring that business requirements are captured within the solution designed for recovery
  • Supporting forecast of Disaster Recovery program development, refresh, and exercise schedule up to a year and a half out
  • Contributing to, and ensure Disaster Recovery process is continually maintained and applied in all facets of the enterprise
  • Understanding and contributing to RFPs, contractual reviews, audit and compliance boards, and project charters
  • Disaster Recovery process document maintenance
  • Maintaining key metrics related to Disaster Recovery
  • Participating in facilitation of recovery efforts, if necessary
  • Assisting in training facilitation and program material upkeep
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years IT Disaster Recovery Program participant
  • 3+ years working in IT related field
  • 2+ years working with data center applications in an audited environment (SOX / PCI / HIPAA)
  • Experience working in a dispersed and segregated environment with many different teams
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English)
  • Occasional travel off site
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location.
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.

  • BC/ DR Program Certification or equivalent
  • Agile Training/Certification
  • Understands System Architecture Plans
  • ServiceNow user experience
  • Resiliency (DR) Management tool experience
