Department Overview

The Commercial Loan Operations Team Lead II is responsible for the day-to-day guidance and supervision to a unit or team in Loan Operations. The Commercial Loan Operations Team Lead II performs most of the duties of Employees supervised and acts as an experienced resource for team. Supervision is usually limited to day-to-day work load coordination, resolution of routine procedural problems, and is most often confined to a single operations process. The job spends the majority of the time performing the same or similar work as the rest of the unit supervised.

Job Description

Provides leadership of unit or team in Loan Operations
Provides coaching and guidance to team members
Resolves complex procedural problems
Acts as an experienced resource for team and provides advice and guidance to less experienced Employees
Resolves all issues escalated by supervised Employees
Coaches and councils team members
Monitors overall progress toward team goals, offers suggestions for improvement
Modifies schedule/workload to ensure completion of objectives
Provides input and assistance to management in developing and maintaining budget
Completes more complex entries in general ledger
Processes more complex work items
Takes corrective action as necessary and escalates more complex or unusual issues to management staff
Schedules and assigns the workload of supervised team. Monitors progress toward team goals and modifies schedule/workload to ensure completion of objectives
Researches suspicious items and reviews findings to help prevent fraudulent activities
Ensures accuracy of general ledger entries and verifies data entered
Verifies posting of previous work; Follows up with appropriate personnel to correct posting errors

Job Requirements

  • Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.

  • 2 year degree or equivalent experience
    5+ years related experience required
    Previous lead experience is required or demonstrated leadership ability
    Demonstrates knowledge of Loan Operations policies and procedures is required or other relevant banking operations experience; Direct experience in one or more Loan Operations functions is required
    Demonstrates attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize workload to meet unit objectives
    Demonstrates written and verbal communications skills
    Ability to coach and mentor team members
    Proven ability to provide guidance to others, clarifying the most complex policies and procedures and facilitating knowledge-sharing in the work group
    Work supervised is generally homogenous and the group supervised is usually 5 or less individuals
