Public Administration Analyst

Responsibilities

The Public Administration Analyst for the Embedded Clinical Research and Innovation Unit (ECRI) will be a customer/patient service representative and an on-site and offsite coordinator of multi-site project(s) working with UCLA patients, clinic staff, and physicians to support research projects in a clinical setting. In this role, you will support research implementation and provide project support. Your duties will include but are not limited to: assisting with recruitment in person and/or using innovative recruitment methods, describing research studies to interested participants and answering questions about the nature and involvement of the study, and consenting process, obtaining informed consent from study participants or their respective family members, collecting surveys for the study and maintaining records of patient interactions.

Assignments may be changed on an as-needed basis in order to ensure that project needs are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • 3 years of prior research experience
  • Fluent in Spanish is preferred
  • Experience in working with a patient population in a healthcare setting
  • Technical skills in smart devices and good technology proficiency
  • Ability to demonstrate excellence in customer service and show empathy
    in sensitive situations
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a occasionally fast-paced
    environment.
  • Ability to
    set priorities and work effectively under competing deadlines and changing
    workloads.
  • Demonstrate
    ability to apply techniques of patient-centered counseling and
    problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate
    interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively and
    diplomatically with diverse group of physicians and patient population.
  • Proficiency
    in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, excellent computer skills
  • Ability to
    work independently without immediate supervision
  • Comfortable around elderly and frail patient
    populations
