Staff Research Associate


The Mary S. Easton Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research at UCLA is seeking a Staff Research Associate who will assist in the coordination and conduct of all clinical trials conducted by the UCLA Katherine and Benjamin Kagan Alzheimer's Disease Treatment Development Program. Duties include but are not limited to systematic collection of research data, collection and processing of research specimens, entry of data, scheduling of research appointments and performing cognitive testing when needed.


Medical training and experience

BA or BS degree in Psychology, Biology, or Sociology with courses in Health Services, epidemiology, biostatistics, and health research methodology, or relevant field or a MA certificate

A minimum of 2 years of experience conducting clinical trials as a Coordinator in a clinic setting

Skill in writing legible, concise, and grammatically correct standard English

Knowledge of universal precautions

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and diplomacy

Ability to work overtime or alternate hours as requested

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for Macintosh computers

Ability to work Monday through Friday 830am to 5:00pm including 30-minute lunch break


Ability to travel, including weekends

Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer's disease

Experience in preparing protocols for Institutional Review Boards (IRBs)

Experience in working with neurology patients and patient triaging

Proficient in Spanish

Knowledge of FDA regulations pertaining to drug research with human subjects at clinical sites

Skill in performing venipuncture
Skill in use of laboratory centrifuge
