About this role

Biogen is seeking an experienced attorney with a solid background in healthcare law to be the lead global attorney providing strategic advice on commercial, regulatory and healthcare compliance issues affecting the marketing and sale of one or more of the company’s products and product candidates.

What You'll Do

The position will support global marketed product development and commercial operations and other related commercial support functions. Responsibilities include counseling on laws applicable to pharmaceutical promotion and sales, industry codes and promotional practices, risk management and mitigation, and general negotiating and contracting on commercial matters.

This attorney will serve as a trusted strategic business partner to the Product Development and Commercialization (PDC) teams by providing clear legal advice and practical business-focused solutions enabling the business to achieve its objectives while preserving and protecting the company’s integrity and reputation around the globe. A successful candidate will exhibit superior legal skills together with a proficiency for critical thinking and problem solving in a multi-functional environment.

This position reports to the Global Commercial Counsel and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Cambridge, MA.


  • 10+ years experience overall in a healthcare legal environment
  • Strong legal background in the commercialization of biopharmaceutical products in the US and globally.
  • Must have ability to manage multiple competing demands and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, analytical skills, and the ability to work in a matrix organization.

  • 7+ yearsexperience in the legaldepartment of a biotech or pharmaceutical company

  • JD required.

Biogen’s US Alzheimer’s Franchise is looking to recruit proven and ambitious sales achievers with at least five years of experience in pharma, specialty, hospital, med device/capital equipment, and/or biotech sales.
In this field-based, specialty sales representative position you will be called upon to sell our products with key stakeholders in the Alzheimer’s Disease community: including Neurologists and allied health professionals.
