This role in particular will have strong emphasis on supporting the BioSafety Manager, managing biological agent registrations, risk assessments, and training. Act as a single point of contact and provide day to day support to the R&D laboratories by providing training, communications, incident investigations and laboratory inspections Actively participate in governing EHS programs for the business to include ergonomic program oversight Make sound judgements based on limited information to develop pragmatic solutions and drive consistent EHS compliance at Upper Merion and Upper Providence campuses Continue to grow knowledge as an EHS professional and develop proficiency to support R&D to satisfy the evolving needs of the business Influence individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and responsibilities including service providers, scientific staff, and senior managers in EHS matters Prioritize a number of activities and manage activities and/or projects concurrently in a rapidly changing environment. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Environmental, Health and Safety Management and/or Biology 2-5+ years' experience in embedding EHS programs into laboratory settings Experience and knowledge in the OSHA Regulations for general industry Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: GSP or ASP certification Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry Experience in handling biohazardous agents or materials that could harbor them Good interpersonal, presentational and persuasive skills so as to successfully interact with managers at all levels and the ability to manage complex internal relations Position requires good time management skills, particularly when each one's schedule can be upended by shifting daily priorities or events Why GSK?
