RF Miniaturization Systems Engineer

Job Description
BAE Systems' Countermeasure & Attack Solutions (CEMA) Business Area has an immediate opening for a RF experienced systems engineers in the Advanced Compact EW Solutions Product Line. As a S enior Principal Systems Engineer, you will work as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, debug, and test new miniature RF Systems to apply in the evolving next-generation electronic warfare battle environment.
  • Performing trade studies
  • Developing and validating EA techniques in a laboratory environment.
  • Performing systems level integration and test of EA techniques.
  • Analyze and model current and emerging commercial and military communication systems
  • Collaborate with groups in the intelligence community and DoD to gather information on signals of interest and develop and Electronics Warfare techniques
  • Preparing and/or delivering technical presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Develop and document system level operational concepts and requirements.
  • Translate requirements into system design architecture by providing systems engineering guidance for multidisciplinary design teams providing allocation of requirements to engineering disciplines.
  • Creates/Supports technical planning.
  • Evaluates Alternatives and Trade Studies including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions.
  • Create and Support System Level Integration, verification and Validation of Electronic Warfare systems.
  • Lead Creation and/or review of operational concepts
  • Research and write System Specifications for new systems
  • Creation of external and internal interface definitions
  • Creation of preliminary designs
  • Creation and/or review of algorithms
  • Creation of traceability matrix of higher level requirements to lowest level requirements
  • Preparing and/or delivering technical presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Lead an in-depth technical engineering analysis
  • Lead Systems engineering trade studies on existing product technologies
  • Coordinate peer reviews
  • Creation/Review of test plans
  • Creation/Review of test procedures and reports
  • Lead/Perform system build, integration, debugging and testing (hands-on product development)
  • Lead/Execution of Verification and Validation tests
  • Support transition from prototype to production

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • US Citizenship required
  • Must possess an Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-10 years related industry experience or equivalent experience
  • BS or MS in engineering (or math/physics) is required
  • Experience with hardware/software systems integration and troubleshooting required
  • Experience communicating technical requirements to multi-disciplinary engineering team required
  • Experience/Ability to analyze and model RF Capabilities.
  • Experience with MatLab, Mathcad or other analysis tools required
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Able to demonstrate ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Master's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or Computer Science
  • Experience with decomposing/deriving requirements
  • Experience in defining technical performance measurements
  • Experience in identifying technical risks
  • Experience with integration and test
  • Experience designing military products considered a plus
  • Specific skills within the domains of Electronic Warfare (EW)
  • Windows/Unix/Linux OS
  • Experience with Software Defined Radios
  • Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
  • Familiarity with lab test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, SDR)F
  • Familiarity with MatLab
