Associate Director, Insights Consulting - Merchandising Insights

By bringing the objective voice of the Walmart customer to all aspects of the business, the Merchandising Insights team is the trusted source of integrated customer insights for our Merchant leadership. Our vision is to be indispensable agents of change that fuel the company’s ability to delight our customers. Our efforts are focused on shaping Merchandising strategies to exceed our customers’ expectations and become the first choice for everything our customers need, however they want to shop. Our agile team is tasked to ensure that relevant and actionable customer insights are identified for both the long-term strategies and key short-term priorities. As part of the Merchandising Insights team, you will also lead the identification of the best and most relevant customer insights that feed the Annual Operating Plans for Merchants.

Insights distillation will be accomplished by integrating multiple sources of customer data like syndicated POS/Research, customer/consumer qual/quant primary research, secondary data sources, internal analytics, customer journeys work and customer experience feedback. Insights would then be brought to life for the Merchants via the development of tight, persuasive presentations that utilize storytelling to convey the most relevant customer opportunities. Successful Merchandising Insights team members are expected to build trust and relationships across multiple functions within the organization including Merchandising, Finance & Strategy, Operations, Marketing, Customer Organization and Product teams.

  • Leading a “Big Rock” Merchandising initiative defined in conjunction with the Merchandising Leadership


  • Delivering a standardize annual insights package as part of their AOP Plan to a set a core Merchants


  • Nurturing an effective cross-functional network by positioning yourself as the Voice of the Customer


  • Delivering ongoing, insights that shapeMerchantstrategyand facilitating decision making


  • Ensuring that your businessinsights andrecommendations are always actionable andspecific
