Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a member of the Merchant Tools engineering organization, you will own next-generation solutions that empower our merchants to deliver the best selection of products, along timely channels and at everyday low prices.

You will build a merchandising insights and workflow application platform that leverages cutting-edge technologies such as event stream processing, functional programming, microservices architecture, big data and ML/AI in a cloud native architecture.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading and delivering medium to large scale features, from requirements gathering to designing, developing and maintaining technical solutions
  • Building software instrumentation to monitor and alert on large scalable infrastructures
  • Defining the application testing strategy including unit testing and regression testing
  • Using programming languages such as F# and .Net to build highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day
  • Drive projects of high visibility across the organization and collaborate with cross-functional teams


Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong industry experience in architecture and development of scalable production quality backend systems
  • Proficiency in .NET Core
  • High level understanding of functional programming
  • Experience with cloud native architectures such as Microsoft Azure or AWS


Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to F# functional programming language
  • Experience with event stream processing, Kafka, Cosmos DB or Elastic Search
  • Experience with Java / Scala programming languages
  • Proficiency with JavaScript programming language and libraries such as React
  • Use of observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana or Prometheus
  • Experience leading an engineering team
  • Experience with Docker
