BANDER/BUNDLING OPERATOR - 3rd Shift, New Oxford, PA

We are seeking resumes for a Bander Bundling Operator in our New Oxford, Pennsylvania facility on 3rd shift

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Operate pallet centering device, auto banding software (hot key system), two stage banding units, conveying system and stretch wrapping equipment
  • Perform basic computer functions to input and retrieve information from system
  • Operate equipment at a pace to avoid gridlock of upstream production equipment
  • Read factory card and execute customer requirement/specification for finishing units for delivery
  • Adds proper dunnage to protect customer product and load tags per customer specs
  • Adds special protective devices on corners or top as specified in customer instructions
  • Programs auto banding software (hot keys) for large orders
  • Maintain inventories of dunnage in various sizes, tapes, load tags and stretch wrap
  • Understands controls to safely position unitizers for clearing jams and loading strapping reels
  • Understands and utilizes safety gates when reloading stretch film rolls or clearing tear outs on film
  • Understands manual override of automation to manually operate equipment if failures or faults occur within the sequence
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot issues, including but not limited to, clearing jams, cleaning machine, loading strap
  • Communicate with maintenance department or supervisor any needed repairs
  • Monitor the quality of output from the machine, communicating back to supervisor any issues
  • May be required to obtain and maintain PCA forklift license
  • Maintain neat, orderly, and safe area
  • Adhere to all safety and work rules, company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties, as needed


Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to constantly stand and walk
  • Ability to occasionally lift up 25 pounds
  • Ability to frequently step up and down from platform, and bend at the waist
  • Must use hands, fingers, and arms constantly to apply dunnage, corner boards, and tags
  • Ability to recognize numbers and number sequences
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously
  • Ability to work within a team, effectively communicating with members
