The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, management and completion of engineering projects on a wide variety of manufacturing units and programs. Uses project management skills to manage project roles, identify resource requirements, meet training needs, define project deliverables, provide customer and reporting structures and insure quality of projects. Identifies the technical approach to be used on a given project and manages the system development process. Documents opportunities to integrate systems and resources to fulfill project requirements. Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Opened in 2017 as the manufacturing, logistics, and engineering center for Daikin's American subsidiary Goodman, the plant makes heating and air conditioning products sold under the Goodman, Amana, and Daikin brands.

  • Responsibilities include providing daily support for managing delivery of project tasks, activities, milestones and resources, developing, maintaining, and managing project requirements, plans, timeline, issues, risks and challenges, supporting Senior Associates and Managers to drive a large program or multiple projects.
  • Lead, train and mentor department personnel.
  • Direct activities, monitor details, and set priorities.
  • Establish, plan and direct manufacturing activities and priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Manage budget for assigned project(s), develop and monitor project/program plan(s), and adjust resources and priorities accordingly.
  • Align business unit, technical development and support organizations. Establish program communication plan across the businesses, regions, and support and technology groups.
  • Prepare and present progress reports for senior management.
  • This position will support and help coordinate finance initiatives, which involve cross team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with Management and Senior Leaders to implement project strategies that support their business.
  • Develop, maintain and is accountable for assigned budgets and business cases.


Knowledge & Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting manufacturing impact analysis in areas such as capacity, footprint, material flow, labor cost/roll up, model lineup feasibility, make vs buy studies and resource planning.
  • Demonstrated implementation of principles, practices, theories, and/or methodologies associated with project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing DFM/DFA/PFMEA initiatives for new product development and legacy processes for HVAC residential unitary products
  • Business processes and procedures

  • Proficient project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills for on time completions of projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Mapics and Project Management tools
  • Proven leadership, coaching / mentoring and team-oriented mindset. Ability to lead a team to achieve strategic goals High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams and build relationships.

  • 12+ years of experience in related field preferably in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • 8 + years of leadership experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • PMP Certification required

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. The manufacturing area has high volume production with forklift traffic. Certain areas may have higher sound levels in which hearing protection is required.
