The Credentialing Data Analyst will be the technical reporting subject matter expert for OptumCare's credentialing platform and the OptumCare National Credentialing Center of Excellence. In this role the analyst will be responsible for gathering reporting requirements, building analysis using SQL and Tableau, and presenting analysis to line level onboarding and credentialling colleagues as well as to senior leadership. This position will be the lead for both process oriented and results focused analysis with the goal of providing insight to key performance indicators such as application turn time, application success and failure rate, exposure to past due recredentialing and licensing, staff productivity and other metrics as needed. Successful candidates will have past experience with provider credentialing and onboarding, the associated data sources and systems (NPPES, CAQH etc.) as well as an expert level SQL skillset and past experience building visualizations using Tableau or equivalent data visualization tools. This role will have a visible impact on the success of the OptumCare National Credentialing Center of Excellence and will be a key interface with both our current vendors and internal teams across OptumCare including Healthcare Economics, Finance, Marketing, and Revenue Cycle.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Independently build, validate, and socialize credentialing quality and operations analytics to support OptumCare's Credentialing Center of Excellence and local market credentialing teams
  • Create and optimize SQL queries from existing provider data management platform to build consumable analysis
  • Assist in maintaining a 'golden record' roster for all OptumCare providers
  • Provide adhoc analytical support to credentialing teams
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, and healthcare economics to support the OptumCare businesses
  • Translate detailed analysis into an actionable executive summary
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration or related field (4+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • 3+ years of analytical work experience
  • Expert level SQL experience for business analysis skill set
    • DDL commands
    • Complex joins and nested queries
    • Common table expressions, pivot, unpivot, etc.
    • Ranking functions, aggregations, running totals
  • Tableau skillset or experience using other data visualization tools to present datasets e.g. Qlik, PowerBI, Spotfire, etc.
  • Ability to communicate summarized results to VP/SVP level leadership

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of healthcare industry experience
  • Credentialing and provider data management experience
  • Experience with credentialing management software systems and processes

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $53,300 to $95,100.
