We are looking for a Director of Commercial Pre Pay Data Science to join our team. This individual will be responsible on the technical leadership of projects and management of team members who develop and deliver large and complex predictive modeling projects for healthcare Payment Integrity processes. Senior Manager of Data Science leads the team that develops innovative and effective approaches to solve client's analytics problems and communicates results and methodologies. Senior Manager of Data Science also provides directions and guidelines to Data Scientists to discover business insights, identifies opportunities, and provides solutions and recommendations to solve business problems through the use of statistical, algorithmic, data mining and visualization techniques. In addition to advanced analytic skills expertise, Senior Manager of Data Science can also lead and develop people, plan, schedule, and communicate results.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform as a working manager - 70% development/30% HR team lead
  • Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists to provide:
    • Predictive models for Payment Integrity
    • Evaluation, feedback and maintenance of predictive models
    • Models documentation
    • Continued development of the model portfolio
    • Innovation and ideation
  • Lead the team in providing high quality data science solutions that maximize savings and operational efficiencies
  • Oversee the scheduling, maintenance and documentation for multiple model delivery work streams
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and quality of deliverables regardless of client data challenges
  • Build strong relationships within the organization including analytics, product, ideation, clinical, and operations teams.
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences including senior leaders
  • Understand and explain drivers of healthcare waste abuse and error trends
  • Initiate and foster unique and innovative solutions and ideas
  • Bring disparate data together with knowledge of healthcare and clinical expertise partners to develop and communicate sound business recommendations to leaders throughout the organization
  • Quickly grasp the complexities, interrelationships and conceptual themes among problems and issues

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in data science, computational science or applied mathematics
  • 5+ years of Python/PySpark experience
  • 3+ years experience developing Machine Learning Models (ensemble models, deep learning, etc.) utilizing structured and unstructured data
  • Supervisory experience over analytical staff or equivalent project management experience
  • Experience in prioritizing work on multiple complex assignments with ongoing deadlines
  • Experience communicating to multiple stakeholder thru a variety of mediums
  • Telecommute is available for this role


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Facility claims data experience or healthcare claims data expertise
  • Experience working with cloud storage systems
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to interact collaboratively with internal customers across multiple departments and business segments
  • Ability to approach issues from broad strategic perspective while also focusing on the details

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $110,200 to $211,700.
