Job Description:

The Chief Financial Office Summer Analyst Program seeks to offer a challenging experience within Blackstone's Finance group to college juniors who are interested in careers in corporate finance and accounting. Our program is designed to develop young talent as well as identify top candidates for Blackstone's full-time Finance Analyst Program within the Chief Financial Office, where analysts are placed directly into a two-year corporate finance rotational program.

The Summer Analyst program offers a hands-on experience across corporate and business finance through which Summer Analysts will have direct exposure to senior-level management, engaging mentors, development opportunities and targeted training. Our training program aims to sharpen technical, analytical and communication skills, as well as contribute to the success of each analyst in their various assignments, including analysis, reconciliation and reporting, and an end-of-internship presentation.

Responsibilities: Summer Analysts will be placed in one group within Finance for the duration of the program. There are a variety of projects and responsibilities available, including, but not limited to:
  • Blackstone Credit Strategic Planning and Analysis: Performing analyses and financial reporting of results to senior management. Analyzing, forecasting and reporting on AUM, revenue, expenses, performance tracking and other operating metrics.
  • Finance Systems: Managing end-to-end system implementation for new directives in both Finance and Technology. Working on requirements, design, user acceptance testing, and support. Gaining advanced experience using Excel for analysis, modeling, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Treasury Operations and Fund Administration: Assisting with the execution of cash movements for the firm and its funds as well as reporting, accounting and ad hoc analysis related to Blackstone's Treasury Solutions platform.
  • Registered Investment Advisors: Developing understanding of the management reporting cycle and key indicators in order to assist the team with analyzing and recording business results.
  • Private Equity Fund Accounting: Performing daily accounting functions for the Blackstone Private Equity funds including, preparing journal entries, reconciling cash, analyzing general ledger accounts, and Limited Partner requests. The candidate will assist in all aspects of preparing quarterly and audited annual reports and liaising with banks and investors.
  • Real Estate Fund Accounting: Responsible for the oversight and administration of operational and financial reporting activities such as monitoring cash activity, preparing reconciliations, creating journal entries, and assisting with quarterly GAAP financial statements relating to Blackstone's Real Estate-oriented investment funds.
