Staff Research Associate

Responsibilities

Under the direction of multiple Principal Investigators (PIs), this will be a 100% full-time Staff Research Associate position in the Department of Neurosurgery. You will be responsible for (1) overseeing general lab operations and supervising all laboratory personnel of a medium-sized laboratory and (2) developing, coordinating, and implementing innovative preclinical and clinical operations & studies, with minimal supervision from the Principal Investigator. This position requires a combination of upper degree level knowledge and skill, as well as the ability to undertake research projects in collaboration with academic personnel across multiple disciplines and departments.

As a Staff Research Associate, you will also direct the development of novel immunocompetent murine models for studies evaluating multiple treatments for brain tumors using immunotherapeutic approaches, evaluating and targeting BRAF-mutations, alternative vaccination therapies, and other disease-specific treatments.
Qualifications

Experience in animal and clinical research

Experience in murine model development, murine survival surgery, microsurgery

Experience in tumor implantation, breeding,
anesthesia, dissection, and tissue processing

Experience in laboratory management and supervision

Experience in immunohistochemistry, cell culture,
and flow cytometry

Extensive experience in writing abstracts for presentations as well as manuscripts
for peer-reviewed journals

Experience in preparing and submitting animal research protocols to the Animal
Research Committees
