Research Associate 2-Human Genetics


In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Perform
    molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, qRT-PCR, cell culture, knockdown of
    genes using siRNA techniques, and cloning to assist
    lab personnel.
  • Perform
    basic technical duties in the lab such as logging in reagents and writing
    research reports
  • Computationally
    analyze single nucleus and bulk RNA-sequence data
  • Computationally
    analyze biobank level data for cardiometabolic traits
  • Help
    organize the laboratory and maintain general cleanliness.
  • Implementing
    and maintaining laboratory safety protocols
  • Managing
    and handling chemical waste
  • Managing
    computer server space allocation for the research group
  • Knowledge
    of basic laboratory safety and protocol is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in
    working with basic laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to
    perform computational analyses and programming needed for genomics analyses,
    communicate clearly and work in a team environment.
  • Previous
    experience working in a laboratory setting. Conducting research experiments and
    computational analyses of genomics data.
  • Knowledge
    of computational biology and programming in genomics.
  • Knowledge
    to work with cell culture, PCR, qRT-PCR, and siRNA techniques
  • Ability to
    perform technical duties such as logging in reagents.
  • Managing
    project computational space as well as and lab space and equipment preferred
  • BS in
    Computational Biology or closely related field is preferred
