Senior Solutions Engineer

Senior Solution Engineer, Solutions Engineering and Delivery will have accountability for the design and integrity of all RICOH Advanced Capture, BPM and Content Management related products and customer solutions. In addition, the Senior Solution Engineer has responsibility for mentoring RICOH Implementation resources and for developing Programming & QA standards. Secondary responsibilities include support of the Sales & Marketing organizations. Travel to client sites may be required on occasion.

The Senior Solution Engineer must possess advanced knowledge of RICOH Advanced Capture and Content Management software solutions and services, as well as consulting services offerings and business process reengineering. Secondary responsibilities include strategic activities related to project profitability, client management, and staff development & mentoring.

 

Job Duties AND Responsibilities

 

Technical Leadership
• Assist the Project Manager in the allocation of development assignments to RICOH Implementation
resources.
• Lead the creation of technical design documents.
• Work with the RICOH Design, Consulting, and Implementation resources to translate business
specifications and create technical specifications.
• Lead the technical project meetings and communications associated with the development, testing
and implementation phases of each project.
• Lead the technical members of each project through the technical development phase of the project.
• Develop, Test, Train, and Implement Enterprise Class Advanced Capture and Content Management
Solutions.
• Ensure all technical members of the project understand the full scope of the solution and where their
piece(s) fit; that they have the information and tools they require for their role in the project.
• Prepare and deliver frequent project status reports to the Project Manager. Participate in preparing
and delivering project status reports to RICOH staff and clients.
• Escalate potential project plan variances to the Project Manager.
Project Participation
• Participate in project meetings and project communications.
• Assist in the development of project plans, specifically the components associated with the
technical design, development, system testing and implementation phases of the project. Work
with the Project Manager to incorporate these components into the master project plan.

• Assist the Project Manager in project reviews
• Maintain awareness of the status for all projects, specifically to ensure that there are no
technical problems.
• Keep project members, and your manager up to date with planned personal time (e.g., vacation,
dental & doctors appointments, etc.)
• Accurate completion of the billable-time reports by the set deadlines.
Enterprise Services Delivery Standards
• Participate in researching and lead the development of RICOH Programming Standards and tools.
• Participate in researching and setting RICOH QA & Testing Standards, methodologies and tools.
• Work with the RICOH Implementation resources to implement and reinforce standards.
• Review code produced from technical project members and audit against the RICOH
Programming Standards.
Sales/Marketing Assistance
• Support the Marketing group product evaluation requirements by conducting full technical
product evaluations as assigned.
• Support the Sales & Marketing group by providing information and/or documentation to be
used for input into RICOH Professional Services product portfolio.
• Participate with Sales and RICOH Design groups in the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs) by
developing time and effort estimates for the development of product customization and installation
services.
• Assist with, or write, technical components of SOWs or proposals.
• Participate in sales conference calls or sales presentations as needed.
Customer Support
• Support the Project Manager to manage the transition of a client's solution over to the TSSC.
• Provide Tier II and Tier III support directly to customers as escalated by the TSSC.
• Provide the TSSC with client specific information, which may assist them in creating service
contracts and better serve our customers.
• Provide the TSSC with the solution or product code to assist them in resolving issues by recreating
the problem.
Staff Development
• Work with the management to identify and create individual and/or group, learning opportunities.
• Lead information sessions on current products and methodologies.
• Research new product developments and recommend new programming or technical considerations.
• Keep up to date by reading all technical updates related to our products and participating in
product update meetings or information sessions.
• Lead activities, which will transfer knowledge and skills to new, and existing staff members.
• Participate in employee reviews by giving constructive feedback for other team members through
the established review process

 

Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

 

Requires 10+ years of progressively senior IT software consulting and development experience with a
specific focus on Advanced Capture and Content Management technologies.
• Requires knowledge typically gained through the attainment of a four-year degree
• AIIM BPM Master
• Must be self-motivated and driven to excel.
