The Containers Director will be responsible for contributing heavily to the design and solution of different Container Orchestration Platforms to meet the growing microservices demand at Prudential. The candidate will work closely with multiple product teams to identify and implement required integrations to achieve full end to end solution.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Compare, test and identify the best design and implementation of containers/micro-services across multiple Container orchestration platforms
  • Enable recommended Security Best Practices and implement guard rails that will govern the overall implementation of the Container platforms
  • Establish and maintain the required Container base images and develop a process to govern the Vulnerability management across all Prudential containers
  • Educate the internal customers on the right process to follow for containerization of their work loads and providing adequate onboarding technical support
  • Actively participate in the joint solutions with Cloud team and share technical expertise while reviewing new solutions and implementation plans
  • Provide guidance and support by closely working with the DevOps pipeline team for improving their various integration points with Container platforms
  • Plan and test Disaster Recovery solutions in place and identify the areas that can be improved and implement necessary changes in the process
  • Enable monitoring by default and provide the application teams with capability to trace their transactions end to end
  • Advocate and Promote self service capabilities and improve the adoptions of the tools that enables it
  • Have a keen eye for automation of several day-to-day task to relieve the team from mundane tasks and enable them focus on the real engineering work
  • Lead the team with hands-on contribution in engineering new solutions to providing support for the technically challenging Priority 1 incidents


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 5 years' hands-on experience with container management and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, Mesosphere, etc.
  • At least 5 years' hands-on experience with any one public cloud - experience with AWS preferred
  • Hands on experience with container technologies Docker, Containerd, etc.
  • At least 5 years' hands-on experience with micro services architecture and container networking models
  • Hands-on experience with AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS CFT, AWS IAM, ELB, ALB, and other cloud services
  • Working knowledge on Google Anthos platform will be a plus
  • Experience in CI/CD tools like Jenkins/Helm/Groovy/Kustomize
  • Experience in automation tools like Ansible/AWS Code/Deploy, Terraform
  • Experience in languages like Python/Perl/Shell
  • Experience in ingress controllers, reverse proxies
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace
