The Fund Operations team is seeking a Controller to join their team. This position will serve a critical role as part of a global, collaborative and dynamic team. This position is in Chicago and will report to team’s Chief Financial Officer.

Description & Responsibilities:
  • Exploration of new business initiatives from an operational perspective including Direct Lending and a Multi-Asset platform
  • Partnering with various global business groups across functions to execute key priorities, understanding and defining business needs in the context of short and long-term objectives
  • Analyzing data, processes, team organization and supporting applications to identify weaknesses, gaps, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Communicating priorities, processes and initiatives in a simple and compelling way
  • Proactively propose new ideas on process / function optimization, data driven insights, client service challenges, and innovation through technology
  • Skillfully manage operational aspects of the function, coordinating workflows to effectively handle incoming requests and priorities
  • Serve as liaison within PGIM to various business units and teams to ensure successful coordination and maintenance of institutional client accounts
  • Exposure to fund accounting, financial statement preparation, tax compliance, treasury management, F/X, valuation


Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required. A CPA designation and/or Graduate degree would be a plus
  • Eight plus years of accounting, tax or operations experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong presentation, written communication and interpersonal skills with exposure to all levels of management
  • Ability to distill and communicate complex issues according to the audience
  • Knowledge and proven experience with financial statement preparation and accounting guidelines
  • Familiarity and understanding of fund, credit and investment legal documents and terms
  • Ability to convey sense of urgency and to work productively with both internal and external business partners (Prudential Enterprise, investors, investment professionals, portfolio companies, etc.)
  • A capacity for leadership and the ability to grow and develop staff
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust priorities as needed
  • Superior analytical skills, accuracy and careful attention to detail are essential
  • High-energy leader who brings positivity, geniality and optimism to their work
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving experience required
  • Ability to travel as required
