Third-Party Contract Manufacturing Manager

The primary responsibility of the TPM (Third Party Manufacturing) Contract Manufacturing Manager is to manage BAU (Business as Usual) activities across a portfolio of Domestic TPMs in Nutritional TPM category with annual throughput up to $50MM . The role will be 100% accountable to build and maintain relationships across the TPMs and ANSC (Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain) while delivering margin and profitability improvements across the ANPD (Abbott Nutrition Products Division Pediatric and Adult) and ANI (Abbott Nutrition International Pediatric and Adult) businesses. WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage multiple Third Party Manufactures and business critical projects (including the negotiation and maintenance of contracts / supply agreements) to ensure that production requirements are met on time and in full
  • Function as the primary liaison between the TPM and AN and be responsible for managing and developing the strategic relationship between the two parties
  • Learn the business, systems and processes by working closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, Production Planning, and Logistics to ensure continuity in supply on on-market products
  • Responsible for the successful resolution of all business and supply chain issues with Third Party Manufacturers that affect product quality or availability
  • Generate and communicate KPI metrics to TPMs and internal management as part of the Global TPM tier review process, TPM of the Year award program, and Monthly Business Review meetings
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Expansion team to transition new products and new TPMs into business as usual status
  • Evaluate costs / benefits of various financial scenarios and make recommendations to senior management. Coordinate internal and external resources to address issues and secure the supply chain.
  • Lead internal and external teams to manage cost and process improvement projects.Identify, share and replicate best practices across the internal and external supply chain network.
  • Manage or oversee the systems transactions required to support Third Party Manufacturers including but not limited to Finished Good and Raw Material Purchase Order issuance and maintenance via SAP


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ownership and accountability for the entire supply chain
  • Have experience working with multiple functional areas and possess an understanding of the various operational disciplines (EX: Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Production Planning)
  • Can travel frequently to Third Party Manufacturers on short notice as business conditions demand
  • Able to work with multiple systems, including but not limited to SAP, to execute on transactions with internal AN (Abbott Nutrition) Plants and TPMs
  • Able to frequently interact with the principle business owner or senior management staff at Third-Party Manufacturers' sites to discuss projects and negotiate issues and resolve problems
  • Excellent problem solving and logical thinking skills


Preferred:
  • MBA
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified or equivalent
  • Green Belt / Black Belt certification
  • Proven history of delivering results and very strong work ethic
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills along with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
