Job Description Summary

Leads and sets priorities for execution of Lean initiatives across the Gas Power Heavy Duty New Units Commercial organization. Responsible for working with the Gas Power HD NU commercial leader, Gas Power HD NU Lean Leader, Gas Power Pole Lean Leader and the BL & Pole Strategy and Operations Teams, to establish a customer based process improvement strategy, which drives customer responsiveness, lead time reduction and quality improvement in line with business/functional objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Commercial Lean Leader (m/f) you will:


  • Shape the continuous improvement vision across the HDGT New Units global commercial organization, in accordance with the business Lean strategy, and translate the vision into goals, objectives and strategies resulting in cross-functional transformation which delivers consistent, year-over-year results


  • Use Lean to drive the Leader Standard Work and Kaizen


  • Work with senior leaders to assess current baselines for Pricing and proposals throughput, and determine the framework processes to be improved using the Lean methodologies


  • Support the Strategy and Operations team in building standard regional processes & governance systems to ensure all regional operations perform in a consistent and best-in-class manner


  • Support simplification of the complex processes and manage cross-functional relationships to support business impact


  • Lead the implementation of standard operating rhythms and provide key output data, metrics and presentations for reporting, operations reviews, and business communications


  • Share best practices across poles and act as a conduit to accelerate cross-functional results



Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent knowledge/experience or college and significant relevant years' experience in ITO or OTR operations with proven track record of results using Lean methodologies


  • Has been or are a business leader managing managers and has Budget ownership



Desired Characteristics:


  • Demonstrated ability in solving complex problems and transforming results and process through the application of Lean techniques


  • Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Management, structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement. Experience of Hoshin is a plus


  • Specific experience in reducing lead time through Lean transformation


  • Experience driving enterprise-wide transformation preferably in a major turn-around. The ideal candidate has been through complex change and tough situations; bringing a will to win with strong followership


  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations - understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile


  • Change agent, able to make the case for Lean and demonstrate immediate impact


  • Highly collaborative person, comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change


  • Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities


  • Ability to drive process simplification and influence others with effective communication



The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus of up to 15%.
