Job Summary

The Manager, Digital Commerce Merchandising Operations is responsible for overseeing item attribute set up and product content catalog maintenance that drive the customer experience on the Walgreens.com digital shelf. Drives continuous improvements on key Digital Commerce merchandising operations processes and systems, with a focus on product activation/item set up/life-cycle management. Requires collaboration with Master Data.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversees relationships with third-party service providers related to product activation and identifies new service providers.
• Oversees accurate and timely digital product activation.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of internal Digital Commerce merchandising operations processes and procedures. May create and deliver trainings to new team members.
• Proactively identifies improvement opportunities related to key Digital Commerce merchandising operations processes and systems. Oversees the implementation of long-term resolutions. Reviews progress on improvements and provides updates to Merchandising Operations senior management.
• Ensures the delivery of a consistent digitally-enabled end-to-end customer experience as it relates to product availability; ensures in-store items are viewable and purchasable online
• Provides input on development of merchandising operations systems and reporting.
• Oversees new item set up across all categories and maintenance of existing items.
• Ensures accurate and timely representation of product assortment in digital assets.
• Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of merchandising experience OR a high school diploma/GED and at least 5 years of merchandising experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing merchandising backend processes/systems.
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
  • Experience in identifying operational issues, recommending, and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Experience presenting to and coordinating senior level meetings, including preparation of agendas, documenting meeting minutes, sending out documents to attendees.
  • At least 1 year experience of direct leadership and/or cross functional team leadership


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree/MBA
  • Experience working in the digital space
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Experience with Stibo (PIM)
  • Experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
