Business Analyst


Responsible for implementing projects or managing processes. Ensures projects are completed within committed time/budget and are integrated with other administration and support projects. Performs project management administration duties to include complying with policies, standards and procedures. This position focuses on the management and oversight of significant projects within multiple areas. This position can be either an individual contributor or a first line manager of employees

Impact on the Business
  • Clarify and review user stories with the Agile team and ensure user stories meet the definition of ready
  • point of contract for the agile team with the busines and PO in collaboration with the scummaster and Train Engineer.
  • Helps to analyze and translates business and technical requirement into actionable user stories
  • Works with the development team to tes and certify applications and user stories
  • Work with the developers and SMEs to understand the work effort for user story.
  • Work with Tech Product Owner for scoping enabler user and NFRs
  • Facilitate writing user stories and the acceptance criteria and definitions and KPI's (?)
  • Assist in identfying impacts for scope change and asses value of change
  • Understand BTF requiremnets and documents the user stories
  • Helps facilitate and understand high level cost of each epic, and associated benefit
  • Ensures the epic-feature-stories have the appropriate acceptance criteria to ensure implementation success within the sprint.

Role Context

This position will be responsible for Fraud Awareness and Education
  • Provides enterprise fraud risk awareness and management education to employees, customers, and the businesses we serve via video conference, webex, or personal presentation.
  • Provides communications services regarding the services and consultancy provided by the Fraud Risk team, publishes Security & Fraud Risk intranet news stories and fraud alerts for business consumption, and reviews any fraud management related communications suggested by the businesses to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintains oversight and tracking of the various projects that are active in Fraud Risk, to include assigned parties and delivery dates.
  • Role interfaces with Security & Fraud Risk senior management, Human Resources Learning and Development, Project Management, and the various business lines.
  • Periodic travel required - 15% or less on an annual basis.

Management of Risk
  • Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.

Observation of Internal Controls
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.


Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
  • Minimum of eight years proven and progressive project management experience supporting assigned businesses or functions.
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in business related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification highly desirable.
  • Strong managerial, problem-solving, lateral thinking, communications, project management, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe software.
  • Proven experience with presenting proposals and project findings to senior management.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage staff while transferring technical knowledge to insure ongoing development of staff
