Job Description

We are seeking an Associate, Corporate Credit to join the investment grade credit research group at TD Asset Management. The position is tailored for an associate that has some credit and/or investment experience and who would support senior analysts across multiple sectors.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist existing senior analysts with monitoring current holdings.
• Gather and filter financial data and news.
• Prepare models for tracking and anticipating changes in credit quality of followed companies.
• Prepare research reports and present to Credit Committee and portfolio managers.
• Maintain relationships with the sell-side, rating agencies and company managements to keep up-to-date on investment opportunities.
• Conduct economic, market and industry research, develop models to support data flow, control, and manipulation, and run reports (e.g., financial, trend, variance analysis, credit quality, asset management reports) on projected future performance
• Assist more senior analysts in assembling and reviewing data, conducting statistical analyses, and completing studies of industry groups, regions/sectors, or individual securities, including a broad range of U.S., Canadian and Global issuers
• Perform in-depth review of company's historical financial and credit performance, management assessment, competitive market dynamics and industry analysis
• Combine assessment of credit quality with thorough analysis of trust indentures governing various securities being analyzed
• Assist senior management with monitoring current holdings
• Gather and filter financial data and news
• Prepare research reports and present to committee/portfolio managers
• Build, maintain and analyze investment models using the appropriate software applications
• Prepare and present investment committee materials as required
• Contribute to special projects (for example ESG, Insurance etc.) as required
  • Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • Progress toward the CFA designation
    • 2 - 3 years of experience in analyzing investment grade credits or other investment assets in a buy-side, sell-side or rating agency environment preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Experience with writing analytical reports.
    • Strong accounting and finance background.
    • Bloomberg, Microsoft Office experience.

    Nice to haves:
    • Experience in real estate or securitization is an asset, but not mandatory
