Search Director, MEDIA LAB


As part of U.S. marketing, the Media Lab leads paid media efforts across the Biopharma group. The team partners with brands on media strategies to reach patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs). Core to this is advancing and innovating new media options, evolving our mix, and continually improving existing channels. The new Media Lab structure includes Planning and Platform roles to enable deeper brand insights and digital subject matter expertise.

The Search Director is part of our platform specialist group. This portfolio role will be responsible for leading our SEM/SEO practice, upskilling capabilities, and identifying future opportunities. In addition to Search, the platform Director will also be responsible for advancing Audio, and managing our DTC agency-of-record.

  • Lead SEM/SEO process, resources, optimizations, and reporting
  • Partner with media and brand colleagues on Search strategies for patients and HCPs
  • Lead Search strategies on Search-only initiatives
  • Provide subject matter expertise for internal reviews, guidelines, and training
  • Identify Search and Audio innovation opportunities
  • Share key Search and Audio media trends and insights on portfolio performance
  • Maintain strong partnership with vendors
  • Advance use of audio (radio/streaming/podcasts) within mix
  • Manage DTC media agency fee, staffing, SOW, goals, and performance

  • BA/BS required
  • 8+ years of agency or client-side SEM/SEO media experience (pharma not required)
  • Deep SEM/SEO technical and strategic expertise
  • Experience leading agency teams within an agency or client-side
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Accuracy in managing complex and dynamic budgets
  • Strong project management skills, including ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, and ability to translate media concepts for a wide variety of audiences
  • Understanding of media measurement norms, evolving data/privacy landscape, and media industry standards
  • Track record of Search innovation and advancement
