What You Will Achieve

The Sourcing Oversight Lead is a new role in GCS responsible to shape, develop, and enable supplier engagement and partnership processes that will advance and grow the GCS business. The scope of the role is to develop, oversee and control the study award and s upplier a greement process and to recommend and lead continuous improvement opportunities to sourcing and quality councils and operational lines. The role will focus on several key accountabilities: 1) The creation of an a gile, networked ecosystem of suppliers , 2) service solutions to meet the ideal fit for any project within the end-to-end Supply Chain, 3) develop a process to award, on-board and oversee suppliers that results in dependable and productive vendor relationships, 4) cross-line and organizational supplier engagement, visibility, monitoring and performance management.

In addition to exemplary sourcing and demand management practices, supplier relationship management, and risk management, this role requires significant data analysis, industry trending, and benchmarking to ensure proactive and innovative strategies are delivered in a timely manner aligned with current and future business requirements.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Maximize the value of sourcing activities and service provider relationships for Pfizer Global Clinical Supply (GCS) in partnership with GCS leaders
  • Co-lead the definition, pilot, and implementation of pan-GCS Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), processes, and tools to facilitate oversight from a relationship, financial, and operational perspective
  • Establish SRM governance, measure, and monitor performance, establish action plans, track progress, report and communicate to ensure Pfizer GCS governance objectives are achieved
  • Participate on strategic sourcing project teams to on-board new services to GCS and u nderstand what has been negotiated in contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality.
  • Foster strong vendor relationships to pro-actively seek out opportunities for value delivery in support of stakeholder lines (savings, efficiencies, innovative technologies, new business models, etc.) and coordinate across the strategic sourcing team to assess and coordinate implementation
  • Co-lead a matrixed team of strategic sourcing and supplier oversight roles within operational lines to assure compliance to agreed sourcing strategies.
  • Support vendor line representatives to enable smooth execution of all day-to-day operations of SRM-related activities
  • Establish healthy supplier relationships and be a single point of internal contact for assigned supplier escalation management


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, logistics, or in a related field.
  • At least four years of professional experience within global clinical supply in a pharmaceutical company or relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency with sourcing, vendor engagement and vendor oversight.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer oriented with the ability to work across multiple teams to influence strategic decisions that will provide cost saving to projects.
  • Management of multi-disciplinary teams that includes collaboration, innovating, measuring work, negotiation, straight talk and delivering to milestones.
  • Proven ability to effectively develop, communicate, and gain support for execution of plans with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to aggregate detailed data into digestible information that can be used to support decision making.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with ambiguity while establishing structure and process standards
  • Ability to manage large budget and associated financial aspects to deliver on time against tight timelines.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Willingness to appropriately engage to develop, promote, and maintain strategic sourcing relationships.
  • Experience managing change in a dynamic, complex environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in Patient Quality and Compliance.


Nice-to-Have

  • Vendor Management experience specific to clinical supply chain management
  • Advanced training in supply chain management, a scientific discipline, pharmacy and/or business administration are desirable
  • Experience with drug development, clinical study design, clinical trial operations and clinical trial execution scientific research, pharmaceutical manufacturing would be advantageous
  • Experience with strategic sourcing, clinical packaging, labeling, distribution, IRT and supplier management are highly desirable.
  • Project Management certification is desirable
