About This Role
The People Relations Partner role will focus on supporting employee relations at Biogen. This individual acts as an objective partner to HR, Legal, and key business stakeholders, and works collaboratively to counsel and provide proactive, effective employee relations solutions. This individual drives programs and processes that facilitate education, awareness, effective employee solutions, and provides a consistent Biogen experience for all employees.

What You’ll Do

• Acts a subject matter expert on company policy, procedures, best practices, and performance management; monitors and analyzes trends and legal updates to guide leaders on appropriate actions.
• Pro-actively assists in developing People Relations policies for the enterprise and ensures proper education and communication of such policies as necessary.
• Investigates/resolves allegations of harassment, misconduct, performance management and various policy violations/concerns, consistent with the Company’s investigations protocols; adheres to department workflow and case management protocols; utilizes case management system to document.
• Acts as an integral liaison between Legal and other key corporate partners to support the defense of employment-related administrative charges and lawsuits; assists with company response to any labor activity and track all case activity.
• Partners with the HRBP and coaches managers on performance management and other employee relations cases; utilizes conflict/issue resolution techniques to diffuse escalated situations, facilitate effective workplace relations, mitigate risk, and promote high performance.
• Educate and train HR Partners, centers of excellence and other employees and managers on People Relations content.
• Participate in various People Relations projects as assigned.

•3-5 years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years of employee relations experience, including experience providing guidance to management and researching, investigating, and responding to employee issues and concerns.
•Deep knowledge and expertise in employee relations procedures and processes, including US employment law, investigations, performance management and reductions in force.
• Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills to diplomatically interact with all levels of employees, clients, and vendors. Experience interacting with executive leaders on complex and sensitive issues.
• Independent thinker with strong attention to detail and team orientation who is able to handle a high workload with agility.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills required to compile, evaluate, interpret and present information (both qualitative and quantitative) relating to a broad range of HR issues and processes. Able to analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly and diffuse difficult situations.
• Ability to influence without authority.
• Strong mediation, dispute resolution, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with line managers and HR colleagues.
• Must have the business judgment to weigh and balance the needs of employees with the interest of the company and its culture to resolve conflict, ensure consistency and fairness, mitigate risk, and prevent liability

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, in business, industrial relations, HR or related field. PHR certification preferred.

Biogen’s US Alzheimer’s Franchise is looking to recruit proven and ambitious sales achievers with at least five years of experience in pharma, specialty, hospital, med device/capital equipment, and/or biotech sales.
In this field-based, specialty sales representative position you will be called upon to sell our products with key stakeholders in the Alzheimer’s Disease community: including Neurologists and allied health professionals.
