IT Warehouse Associate - Entry Level

Job Description

General Function:

The Receiving Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining all tasks involved with smooth, daily operations of the receiving area and processing of merchandise. The Receiving Specialist will utilize computer systems and operational processes to maintain accurate inventory and minimize shrink, while being flexible and helping facilitate the company's philosophy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute all aspects of the receiving process verifying merchandise deliveries into our WMS system and according to company standards.
  • Ensure, when applicable, eachCustomer receives exceptional service. Reinforce steps by maintaining outstanding metrics compared to standards.


  • Accurately process all inbound shipments, transfers, re-wraps and salvage merchandise in adherence with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure an orderly and neatly maintained hold and receiving area.
  • Perform cycle counts as requested
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Follow Security rules and regulations and warehouse dress code.


  • Work to departmental quotas daily/weekly/monthly.
  • Help with Physical Inventory.
  • Assist other departments when work is current in your department in a courteous manner and under the direction of that department's supervision.
  • Must perform various duties of housekeeping as instructed by supervisor/manager.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this class, employees are regularly required to sit; talk or hear, in person and by multi-media; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are frequently required to walk, stand and move about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Must have ability to ascend and descend stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to lift 75lbs consistently.

While performing the duties of this class, employees are regularly required to effectively use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; learn and apply new skills and information; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; and interact with colleagues, Clients and Vendors. Specific incumbent must maintain composure in a fast paced, high quality environment where personal and team accountabilities are the defining factors.



General office environment

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required: Maintain a positive, guest-centric attitude by listening, understanding and responding to guest needs while being committed to Pomeroy's philosophy. Communicate effectively and professionally with all associates and guests. Thorough knowledge of processing information and merchandise via a computer; operate and use all equipment necessary. Have a working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, Internet and order processing systems. Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret business reports, correspondence and procedures effectively while also accurately presenting information and responding to questions. Freely access all areas of the warehouse area by standing, walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, crouching and kneeling and lifting and/or moving up to 50 (fifty) to 100 (one hundred) pounds at any given time. Request assistance for any awkward or heavy items to reduce any personal safety issue. Work varied hours/days as business dictates. Technical proficiency and comfort with computer operations including, but not limited to, the Internet, Microsoft Outlook and Windows operating system. High School Diploma required, Associate's or Bachelor's preferred Maintain drug free environment. Must take fork truck/powered equipment training and pass the certification.

Requirements

$500 Sign on Bonus for new associates
  • Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply
  • Associate must be employed by Pomeroy at the time of payout
  • Bonus paid out as lump sum, after 90 days of employment
  • Must start employment between 7/1/2021 - 9/30/2021 to be eligible for sign on bonus.
