Senior Scientist, DMPK

Job Description

Biogen is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead its in vitro ADME group in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department at our Kendall Square site in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The group consists of highly skilled, dedicated, experienced colleagues who develop and run assays to assess drug metabolism (liver microsomes, hepatocytes, low-clearance), drug-drug interaction (competitive DDI, TDI, induction), transporter liability (transwell substrate and inhibition), and plasma/tissue binding. We support programs from inception through development.

The position requires deep expertise in ADME sciences and small-molecule DMPK generally. The colleague will drive the in vitro group strategy and objectives as well as support small-programs and cross-functional initiatives. In this role you will:
  • Definegroup objectives: scientific, strategic, and operational.
  • Be project representation insupport of our small-molecule portfolio
  • Superviselaboratory staff
  • Resource manageand plan: equipment and personnel
  • Lead/participate in cross-departmental initiatives/educational workshops.


Qualifications

  • PhD with a minimum 5 years of industry experience or a Master's Degree with minimum of 8 years of industry experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in in vitro ADME: metabolic stability, transwell permeability, DDI, and plasma/tissue binding including for discovery and development.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on regulatory guidance pertaining to ADME/DMPK
  • Ability to represent DMPK on small-molecule matrix project teams and on cross-functional initiatives. Experience with other modalities a plus
