Sr Mgr IT Vendor Management

Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager of IT Vendor Management will be responsible for establishing vendor management best practices focusing on managing MSPs (managed services providers)/strategic technology suppliers/vendor governance, compliance, commercial management and portfolio within the supplier/vendor scope. The role is key for the operational delivery, quality, commercial efficiency, budget control as well as contract compliance.

The Sr. Manager of IT Vendor Management will work as a member of the IT Operations organization. The leader in this position will manage and monitor the overall relationship with strategic suppliers/vendors providing managed services, products, and technology services to the organization and will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring adherence to Hershey's vendor management policies.

This position is expected to be the primary point of contact within IT Operations related to suppliers, their capabilities, and opportunities to enhance Hershey's IT performance in operational stability, delivery quality, and cost effectiveness. This enterprise wide IT-focused role uses Gartner IT supplier performance inputs and market research, partnering with Procurement to develop recommendations for a performance/risk/cost balanced supplier portfolio, including rebalancing or consolidating supplier scope, as needed. This role also supports key sourcing initiatives/solutions through deal shape, transition guidance, and organizational enablement/training for internal stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:

Strategic Vendor Governance
  • Build strong partnerships and engagement with existing and new MSP partners
  • Lead overall performance of our contract operations and improve governance
  • Set agenda, own and facilitate weekly and monthly vendor performance and KPI reviews
  • Support vendor escalations, and lead corrective action plans


Financial Management/Planning
  • Drive ongoing continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and cost
  • Synthesize disparate information quickly to develop a succinct, accurate summary of the opportunity/need. Sets the long-term strategy and makes it happen, digging deep into the details.


Customer relationship management
  • Develops and drives strategy to enable us to deliver high quality, efficiency, and world class support for our internal stakeholders and business units.
  • Leads negotiations, gains commitments and initiates action to remediate risks and vulnerabilities from the leadership of other teams.


People Leadership - Leads and manages team of technical experts and analysts in addition to Managers.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

Develop IT strategic supplier portfolio (performance, service portfolio coverage, spend/mix) reporting for IT leadership. Based on current supplier performance and the supplier market, lead supplier portfolio management in partnership with Procurement and Operations team.

  • Define and manage cross-supplier performance management and cross-supplier governance structure. Manage vendor activity to identify and recommend methods to support cost savings, cost avoidance, improved efficiency or more strategic sourcing.
  • Conduct supplier spend/consumption analytics in partnership with Finance to provide sourcing optimization recommendations, including contract consolidation/restructure, as needed. Research, analyze, and interpret the IT services marketplace to understand supplier/market characteristics and identify sourcing trends/opportunities
  • Responsible for establishing efficient guidelines, processes and management systems for properly managing Hershey's IT supplier relationships, including supplier contracting ("right contract for the right work", proactive management of strategic supplier data/reporting in internal platforms)
  • Provide oversight for sourcing initiatives, including supplier transition program leadership, to ensure consistency in supplier enablement, adherence to Hershey's standards, and linkage to the overall IT operating model.
  • Proactive manage the contractual relationship of strategic suppliers/vendors through the initiation (RFP) process through execution and monitoring through governance, reporting and in partnership with Service Owners.
  • Conduct supplier due diligence including scorecards, annual reviews, reporting metrics, establish dashboards, and financial analysis
  • Responsible for vendor related conflict resolution, escalation and resolution procedures
  • Provide input to support compliance audit regarding adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Create and maintain Supplier Management Process and Procedures operating manual to drive continuous improvements in all areas of vendor management.
  • Work with Legal and Sourcing/Procurement across supplier lifecycle


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.


Certifications Preferred but not required
    • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
    • Certified Technology Procurement Executive (CTPE)


Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience managing global suppliers in a large scale organizations across Technology Sourcing and experience in managing contracts with Managed Services Providers
  • Strong expertise with contractual terms, financial resource unit modeling, and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure that contractual commitments are delivered
  • Experience with development and evaluation of vendor scorecards
  • Experience working with multiple business units, suppliers, and/or other FDA regulated industries, global experience is highly beneficial
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology products and terms
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple systems environments
  • Strong Vendor Management experience in an IT function
  • Executive presence and comfort interacting with both internal and vendor senior leadership, excellent Stakeholder Management skills
  • Ability to influence without authority and collaborate with internal clients and stakeholders
  • Communication of business concepts and needs in technology relevant terms as well as translation of technical concepts into business/nontechnical points
  • Relationship skills that will facilitate positive vendor behaviors, establish healthy new engagements and deepen existing ones
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on managing to business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and external parties
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with internal clients.
