How? Become a Maintenance Technician I at Abbott in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. This position is in a third shift (9:00 pm - 5:00 am) from Sundays to Thursdays.

As Maintenance Technician I you will be responsible for performing maintenance functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in the organization and preventive maintenance tasks. Determines and can assist in the development of methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process of equipment maintenance.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
  • Observe and comply with all safety rules and regulations. This includes the QSR and ISO Standards.
  • Performs "set-up," tests, repair, inspection and / or maintenance of all equipment in different areas (Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality, etc.)
  • Identifies, documents and implements corrective and preventives actions in equipment used in manufacturing.
  • Performs corrective and preventive maintenance, as necessary.
  • Installs and validates equipment in the production area to improve performance and / or reduce cycle time followed by the established validation procedure.
  • Can develop or review documents or procedures related to equipment or maintenance.
  • Verify and maintain an inventory of your tools, equipment and materials.
  • Coordinates the construction of tools and accessories manufacturing for the manufacturing area.
  • You may be required to perform other tasks, as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Industrial Mechanics, Electronics, Electricity or Instrumentation.
  • 1+ years of experience in industrial mechanics, electronics, instrumentation or related area, preferably in medical device industry.
  • Verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of quality regulations and standards that affect medical devices (i.e. FDA Quality Systems and Regulations).
  • Knowledge of safety and OSHA regulations for corporations, local area and state.
