The Role at a Glance:

As the Sr. Business Systems Analyst, you will provide subject matter expertise and direction on projects/initiatives for Lincoln's Life Underwriting & New Business technology team. You will collaborate with business focus groups who will provide scope and requirements and work with IT partners to define and validate complex information technology solutions that meet the needs, goals and objectives.

Background Details
• The New Business Technology team began project delivery using Agile methodology over 5 years ago. The product owner on the team that was on the forefront of this new delivery method has chosen to retire this year.

What you will be doing:
• Reviews and resolves escalated issues and concerns for assigned area(s) of responsibilities.
• Has a clear understanding of Agile methodology, delivery of requirements in user stories, understanding of acceptance criteria and the role of a product owner in managing dependencies in and across Agile sprints and releases.
• Effective communication skills in conveying business and technical requirements as a liaison to both Business and IT partners.
• Validates that the solution meets the business need by developing complex acceptance criteria and plan to evaluate
• Provides complex technical research and analysis to support business operations needs and presents findings to management or project leader.
• Determines complex best practices and suggests how to improve current practices.
• Provides a complex understanding the business usage of information technology (IT) and helping technology add value to the business.
• Serves as a mentor and shares knowledge with more junior team members.
• May develop complex test plans and perform testing as needed.
• May update tables as needed.
• Directs and/or participates in the planning/estimating of projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

What we are looking for:

• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in Information Technology (Minimum Required)
• 5 - 7+ Years of experience in business systems analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g., senior management, peers, and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
• Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Home:Employees will work from home generally three days each week and come into a Lincoln office on a schedule their manager will help set, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
