The Role at a Glance

We're excited to bring on a Consultant, Data Science who will consult/analyze on progressively more complex projects/initiatives while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of the assigned areas of Data Science responsibility. This position will use statistics, data mining, exploratory data analysis, and basic predictive modeling techniques to deliver data-driven insights to internal stakeholders.

What we're looking for:

  • Independently completes EDA (Exploratory Data Analysis) on prepared data for statistical and/or predictive modeling, and formulates hypotheses to develop relevant analysis for business stakeholders.
  • Identifies relevant data and stakeholder knowledge/resources needed for clear definitions and data understanding.
  • Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders and manager/team leads to identify more complex business problems that can be solved with data analytics.
  • Independently builds solutions leveraging basic modeling techniques; partners with manager/team leads on increasingly complex modeling techniques.
  • Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Creates visualizations & data storylines to share results and communicate actionable insights using data to technical & non-technical audiences.
  • Partners with manager/team lead to understand the data needs of stakeholders and develop roadmaps to meet needed timings, and provide guidance on best use of data insights.
  • Independently creates, processes, and cleans data while following best practices. Involves SMEs as needed to understand data collection/creation.
  • Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Partners with manager/team leads to ensure stakeholder buy-in for solutions leveraging increasingly complex modeling techniques.
  • Uses statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in data.
  • Identifies potential security, legal, and ethical risks of data and works with manager to involve appropriate parties to resolve.
  • Researches existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.


Other Skills and Abilities

Experience

  • 3 - 5+ Years of experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Biostatistics, or similar relevant field that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, or 1-3 years of experience for those with a Masters or PhD. (Required )
