Site Name: Guayama JV Posted Date: Sep 24 2021 Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Engineering Technician II provides maintenance and troubleshooting services to the facilities, manufacturing/packaging operations and its associated utilities, as well as the main utilities required for site operation. Incumbent is accountable for responsibilities such as: maintaining, altering, calibrating, modifying, installing, removal, troubleshooting and repairing equipment of mid-level to high-level complexity under general direction. Conducts all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOP,s, Values & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), environmental guidelines, as appropriate, etc. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: Equipment Preventive Maintenance Performs preventive and predictive maintenance of production equipment, utilities equipment and control systems, following the established guidelines for the CMMS system, equipment operational procedures, site and manufacturer recommend maintenance practices. Reports opportunities captured during preventive maintenance execution. Provides recommendations for preventive maintenance task improvements. Follow the weekly maintenance plan and alert when there might be a risk of not complying with the preventive maintenance schedule. Generates maintenance work orders to report and coordinate repairs for tasks out of the scope of the preventive maintenance. Equipment Troubleshooting Provides mechanical, electrical, electronics, fabrication, instrumentation or automated support for troubleshooting activities. Performs troubleshooting work in order to identify equipment malfunction and perform the required repair work. Coordinate support from the other areas, such as HVAC, Utilities, Instrumentation, Automation and/or Machine Shop for the troubleshooting, if required. The troubleshooting can be generated as a consequence of an equipment malfunction, calibration process, equipment performance monitoring and predictive maintenance reports. Provides support for root-cause analysis of equipment related failures. Makes timely interventions to solve problems and document actions in the CMMS system. Works from verbal and written instructions including, but no limited to, equipment manuals, drawing, sketches and preventive/corrective maintenance task list. Generates maintenance work orders to report equipment malfunction or repairs needed for process equipment, control systems, electrical systems, facilities, instrumentation and utilities. Projects Provides support for capital projects which includes, but not limited to, the introduction of new equipment, new products, new processes, changes in process, formulation changes, equipment upgrades and improvements. Supports validation activities of equipment, product or processes as required; this can include installation, EHS inspection, drawings verification, instrumentation verification, measurements and/or functional testing. Documentation (Hard Copy/Electronic) Responsible for preparing, reviewing, auditing, recording and maintaining operational documentation such as, but not limited to, logbooks, monitoring parameter forms, safety inspection forms, corrective and preventive maintenance work orders (CMMS), calibration records, or any other document required as per site procedures. Complies with site labeling practices for Utilities, Instrumentation, Asset and Safety Hazards, among others. Training, SOPs and GMP Stays current on the appropriate policies, procedures, methods and practices including safety guidelines and GMP. Recommends changes to Maintenance Tasks and SOPs. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals Associate/Technical degree in Industrial Mechanics, Electricity, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Electronics or Instrumentation. Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Mechanics, Electricity, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Electronics or Instrumentation. High School Diploma with 3 years plus of relevant experience in 2 of the following trades: Electrical Machinist/Fabricator Industrial Mechanic Instrumentation HVAC Systems WWTP (Waste Water Treatment Plant) Technician Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Possesses skills to complete basic to mid-level corrective/preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities. Mid-Level computer skill and knowledge in software applications such as Excel, Word and Power Point. Must be proficient in the use of CMMS systems. Must be able to execute and document corrective and preventive maintenance completed tasks electronically. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, automated, hydraulic and pneumatic engineering processes. Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings and schematics for electrical, control, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Able to identify and properly use hand tools and power tools for maintenance related activities. Understand the basic math needed to perform maintenance including: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. Understands basic units of measurement such as Temperature, Humidity, Length, Weight and Pressure among others. Possess skill to understand and execute basic maintenance task for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automated systems. Problem Solving Skills: Basic level problems solving skills. Ability to gather and analyze data, identify root-cause and propose recommendations to prevent reoccurrence. Ability to review workload and determine most efficient and effective schedule. Able to work under pressure, rotating shifts and in different operational areas. Able to accommodate to request of services, emergencies and changes in priorities. Able to read, translate, interpret and document preventive and corrective maintenance task either in English or Spanish.. Why GSK?
