Staff Research Associate

Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking
to hire a full-time Staff Research Associate to join the Integrated Substance
Abuse Program (ISAP). You will assist the project team on the multiple
components of the Statewide Evaluation Projects. This work aims to expand and
improve the delivery of substance use disorder treatment, particularly for
underserve populations and patient eligible for Medi-Cal coverage. Primary duties
include:
  • Development of online surveys for various provider disciplines
  • Development of interview guides
  • Scheduling interviews/focus groups
  • Track and locate targeted participants for data collection
  • Preparing reports
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree (preferred)
Knowledge of substance use disorder (SUD)
treatment (e.g. experience as an SUD client, counselor, researcher, etc.)
Experience in data collection with similar populations
Familiarity with Qualtrics or Survey Monkey,
or similar survey platform
Ability to maintain confidentiality of evaluation
participants interviewed
Organizational skills with strong attention
to detail to maintain records and coordinate other tasks
Proficiency with personal computers and relevant
software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly
and effectively, verbally, and in writing, with participants, staff, and
supervisors
Comfort questioning participants about
sensitive behavioral issues, including drug use and criminal behavior, and
frequency of high-risk sex behaviors
Familiarity with Atlas.ti and Filemaker Pro (preferred)
Experience conducting statistical analysis (preferred)
Familiarity with UCLA reimbursement and
travel procedures (preferred)
Ability to occasionally work evenings and
weekends
Ability to travel (able to fly, rent and
drive a car, stay overnight when needed)
Skill in simple mathematics
Ability to work productively from home temporarily
while University COVID-19 guidance
