Job Description

Scout for, evaluate and execute high-value, small molecule in-licensing deals to deliver regional (Latin America) pipeline and augment existing portfolio. Manage the alliance relationship.

Major Accountabilities (Describe 8-12 main activities )

•Work closely with the Head BD&L in all initiatives related to identification of commercial opportunities as distribution, licensing deals and possible product acquisitions – at both a Regional and National level
•Support definition of Country/Region Licensing strategy, focusing on top priority gaps in collaboration with the Country Heads and local BD&L Organizations to ensure alignment and high quality execution of deals and contracts.
•Lead the identification of strategic Business Development partners in both Regional and Local level
•Lead the evaluation and execution of commercial opportunities in selected Therapeutic Areas for Licensing-In and Distribution-Out, being full responsible for the project since identification until deal is signed.
•Ensure all the necessary data analysis is available on an accurate and timely manner to support/expedite decisions on potential deals
•Manage cross-divisional teams to ensure In- & Out-Distribution commercial opportunities, working closely with Legal, Finance, Portfolio, ESO, RCC, Quality Assurance, PSC, Local ComOps teams. Remote

Minimum requirements

Education: University Degree in Science and/or Business, Marketing/Business Administration. MBA desirable.
Languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (desirable).

Experience: 7 years or more years of related experience in Sales & Marketing or Business Development function. Preferable in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Director BD Latin America is responsible for the timely and consistent Regional BD&L strategy execution, maximizing deal value and optimizing complexity and timelines.

Should own and drive BD&L agenda execution in designated areas of responsibility, pro-actively identifying new areas for business expansion and development.

Owns and ensures coordination and alignment for BD&L activities with all key stakeholders, e.g. Commercial Operations, Development, Legal, Technical Operations and Finance, from idea identification to deal execution, supports project until launch in key markets.

Strong collaboration with countries under area of responsibility is key so regular contact with country organization and good communication with country heads is essential.

Position requires strong communication and negotiation skills to negotiate externally and internally and identify optimal deal structure, legal and project management set up, leading cross-functional collaboration to maximize deal value, optimize timelines and resources required for projects execution.

Should be able to develop and present clear and compelling business cases and other supporting communications for deal approval with management, incl. in-depth commercial and financial deal evaluations.
