Sr Analyst Commercial Finance

Job Summary:

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the financial analytical framework leveraged by the US Commercial team. In consultation with the Manager Portfolio Marketing, build value add analyses for Core Marketing teams. Support the process for developing and communicating Annual Plan and Business Updates.

Role Responsibilities:

Support the Seasonal Teams Financial Needs

  • Lead financial modeling of future seasons P&Ls, analyzing past P&L performance and projecting financial implications of variances to plan on current seasons
  • Manage the Seasonal CPR P&L process for Holiday & Easter
  • Lead financial focus on the Seasonal P&L including focus on Product Mix, Distressed Sales, Destroyed/Donated/Repacked/Packaging Obsolesce on a frequent basis
  • Support the Seasonal IBM process by representing finance in monthly meetings with cross functional partners to drive decision making to improve P&L results
  • Support the strat plan process and provide an independent view of the realism of the Seasonal Building Blocks through fact based analyses.


Portfolio/Marketing Financial Analysis

  • Promote enhanced financial acumen within the marketing organization through collaboration centered on business reviews, results interpretation, insight sharing, and action plans.
  • Assess drivers of margin variance and identify options for margin expansion
  • Research trends underlying P&L performance; develop processes which help to communicate and interpret Franchise P&L results
  • Assemble and review financials supporting launch of everyday and seasonal portfolio extensions.


Build New Tools to Drive Insights and Efficiency

  • Serve as the lead for developing best-in-class commercial finance tools and analytical approaches (e.g., Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau) that integrate multiple data sources to provide a full picture of top and bottom-line impacts to business choices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional parnters to optimize funcitonality and effectiveness, and lead finance cross-training and best practice sharing.


Special Projects

  • Provide support to the US Commercial organization and lead special projects and ad hoc analysis requests.
  • Manage the tools, process, completion and presentation of other analysis in support of decision making including; out-year portfolio mix analysis, innovation post-audit, brand investment analysis.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

  • Ability to analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and execute process improvement recommendations
  • Ability to manage intern daily activity to ensure accurate timely reporting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint modeling skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/areas of responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Ability to produce accurate results in a fast paced constantly changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or business-related field required, MBA or equivalent marketplace experience preferred


Experience:

  • 3-5+ years work experience in an analytical and/or strategic capacity. CPG and/or other consumer-facing products experience preferred; Experience developing strategic and data-driven recommendations; Comfortable working with wide variety of data
