Specific Job Description

This position is in submarine fleet support working to support the Columbus availability. Sucessful candidates should consider the following: - Candidate should show a strong understanding of the SUBSAFE and REC process - Candidate should show a strong understanding of the URO program and process for certification of unrestructed operations - Candidate should have a strong understanding of fleet support operations and be prepared to mentor and assist new engineers on Inspection Report resolutions ensuring the correct sequencing of work for efficeint trades execution. - interested candidates should understand the need for overtime/weekend and duty shifts in order to support on-going shipboard operations - Candidate may be required to aid in developing and implementing Sub Fleet Suport processes and procedures to aid in future availabilities.

General Job Template Description

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's Degree and 6 years of experience. 2 years of related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. 4 years of non-related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Associate's degree.
