The Director, Data & Product Strategy EU will collaborate across business units in the European region, operations and tech teams to define needs, uncover opportunities, and inform fit for future roadmap of data-driven commercial capabilities that focus on improving effectiveness, efficiency, customer experience and top-line revenue growth. The Director, Data & Product Strategy EU will find new and exciting ways to drive the business forward through the power of data. This role is within the Commercial Data Analytics and Insights organization. This team is focused on bringing together data and technology capabilities to allow for the organization to become data driven in every decision to drive revenue and growth. This role will be representing the Commercial Data Analytics and Insights team in the EU region as a strategic thought partner to the business across EU countries, closely collaborating with GPMO (Global Pharma Marketing Operations) and EU Tech; and will be managing a team of Product Owners. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following… Work with the Business across EU countries, GPMO and EU Tech to identify, conceive, and evaluate potential high-value data product developments and enhancements Establish a prioritization matrix for products & services that maximizes business value and competitive differentiation Create Business Opportunity Charters that includes use cases, value drivers, owners, and actions Oversee development, deployment, and management of all data products in the EU markets, with a keen focus on insight automation and commercial execution across the sales and marketing ecosystem Develop & establish standards for data product frameworks, operating models, financial analysis and success measurement Partner with various business strategy and execution teams, internal data dev ops teams as well as with 3rd party vendors to design, develop, and scale these capabilities Manage budget(s) for products within your vertical/domain for development, maintenance, enhancements, and growth initiatives Be a member of the EU Tech and GPMO extended leadership teams In collaboration with Business, GPMO and EU Tech, develop a 1-2-year strategic plan to build new data-driven commercial capabilities aligned with the business strategy and needs Manage a team and influence other resources across DevOps, data governance and product management to execute the charter of the Commercial Data Analytics and Insights Provides formal and informal coaching on-the-job to grow team members to their full potential. Delivers results through others, leveraging the ability to lead through influence - performance measured on outcomes Actively look for opportunities to bring in innovation, learnings, and best practices into team's work Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Entrepreneurial flair to understand the business needs and issues in the EU and to develop relevant data product strategies to meet demand Extensive experience in the acquisition, exploitation and management of enterprise data assets and ‘products' in a large, complex organization Experience in developing and deploying core data driven marketing & commercial analytics packages in support of rational decision-making, personalization with a keen focus on rapid test & learn development, automation and simplification of information management. Deep understanding of digital marketing strategies and the platforms and tools needed to effectively execute in a data driven manner across owned and 3rd party channels Bachelor's Degree in Business, Life sciences, Statistics, Economics, Marketing or other analytically based degree or other STEM-related area preferred 10+ years working in Data & Analytics (preferably with data tech stack & pharma commercial space) 5+ years experience in data product management and data product development & project delivery experience 5+ years of people management experience Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Advanced degree, preferably in Management, Business Analytics or relevant field of study strongly desirable Pharma or life sciences experience or at least experience supporting a commercial business An end-user, customer-first mindset open to changing requirements and complex solutions Proven ability to engage with business and executive leadership Strong relationship building skills and executive presence Problem solving and multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with business partners to turn requirements into an actionable technical plan Ability to analyze complex situations and to derive workable actions - identify, prioritize and weigh options and recommend a value-add solution Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to the firm Excellent management skills, coupled with exceptional judgment and tact Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change Ability to effectively work across the various Markets/Brands to gather requirements and gain consensus Statistics/ML experience a plus but not required Awareness and understanding of cloud-based product development Why GSK?
