Associate Director, Head of Patient Engagement Capability

About This Role

Process minded individual to build and support the capabilities needed to deliver all patient engagement activities across our Phase 1-4 clinical trials from early disease area strategy to innovative recruitment strategies and study specific language summaries. Capabilities include processes, vendors, and systems needed. Part of a multi-disciplinary team of experts in health equity, clinical trial transparency, data sharing, and digital engagement. Responsible for line management of all support staff across these disciplines.

What You’ll Do
  • Build processes, templates, training to support patient engagement activities (disease area strategy, study recruitment strategy, public inquiries, lay language summaries)
  • Support vendor analysis, selection and management for patient engagement
  • Manage all resources that support across any of the capability areas including clinical trial transparency, data sharing, digital engagement, health equity and patient engagement
  • Manage any systems, tools, or reporting dashboards in support of patient engagement

You understand and are innovative about the ways we engage patients. You are process minded and enjoy defining and establishing new processes. You have been successful at going through vendor selection and management. You are an experienced and interested people manager who cares deeply about growing and developing your direct reports.


Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree preferred
  • Possess 8+ years experience in working in clinical development operations inclusive of trial management or activities related to recruitment and patient engagement
  • Process owner and/or experienced in process mapping and design
  • Resource planning and management inclusive of direct people management (will manage 4+ FTE and 2+ contractors in a matrix org)

Preferred Skills
  • Project management capabilities i.e. ability to develop the plan and manage multiple projects/activities concurrently
  • Experience working with vendors to define SOW, set measures of success and provide oversight
  • Track record of success working cross functionally with key internal customers and providers (IT, Finance, Process Owner Network)
  • Leadership skills: Strong communication skills; Ability to work in a matrix organization; Ability to influence without direct authority

In this field-based, specialty sales representative position you will be called upon to sell our products with key stakeholders in the Alzheimer’s Disease community: including Neurologists and allied health professionals.
