Sourcing Intern, Data Center Equipment

Summary

Facebook is seeking a Sourcing Intern, Data Center Equipment (SI) to join its Sourcing Operations Engineering team. Our data centers, connectivity labs, and mobile programs are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and how Facebook connects the world. This SI will work closely with our Data Center and Hardware Design, Supply Chain, and Contract Manufacturing teams to design automation, analyze data, and enable Facebook's products to scale.

Required Skills

  • Analyze the overall supply chain to identify risk and drive resolution to supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-times
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop global sourcing strategies for data center equipment in alignment with Facebook's long-range plan
  • Develop a contract heatmap to identify legal or commercial risk in our existing Master Purchase Agreements
  • Analyze and evaluate programmatic equipment strategies for insights and recommend program level metrics


Minimum Qualification

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Experience driving initiatives in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
  • Proven ability to influence executive audiences while demonstrating objectiveness and effective communication skills
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment


Preferred Qualification

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field or Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience working with legal contracts and/or an understanding of contractual terminology
  • Data Center experience and experience in areas such as supplier management, project management, and/or implementing global sourcing strategies
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
