Director, Business Analysis and Insights

This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.


Essential Functions


An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.


  • Directs the prioritization, scoping, evaluation, and feasibility assessment of multiple, competing, and enterprise-wide projects by directing program and project managers in the selection and facilitation of a cross-functional team of stakeholders; communicating goals, objectives, and priorities of the department to key business stakeholders; and influencing departmental strategic plans.


  • Directs program management process improvement by overseeing gap analyses; evaluating and determining practicality of improvement opportunities; developing improved processes based on best practices and standards; ensuring alignment of process improvement with department and company strategy; providing guidance to project leads on process improvement; gaining buy-in and approval from leadership on process improvements; and overseeing the implementation of processes.


  • Oversees program performance by reviewing projections compared to actual results; identifying key performance indicators and trend data; guiding return-on-investment analyses; reviewing customer response and feedback from key stakeholders; addressing cross-functional program and project issues; collaborating with teams across the company to leverage processes in order to increase service and product capabilities.


  • Provides leadership by identifying key business issues; championing change based on team analysis; identifying or creating state-of-the-art modeling and analysis tools; providing technical guidance to team members on modeling techniques, data mining, statistical analysis, and all new analysis projects; aligning resources of department with customer requests; and creating strategic plans for the department according to business objectives.


  • Provides data-driven analysis and insights to help drive business strategies by overseeing ongoing analytical needs; reporting data-based insights; reporting on business strategies; collaborating with internal and external business partners to build a consistent and accurate strategy for using data- driven insights.


  • Drives business strategies by directing initiatives based on data ; driving processes based on recommended strategies; partnering with internal and external stakeholders to implement strategies; reassessing strategies to adjust to feedback and meet results; building relationships with stakeholders to support strategic growth plans; and presenting summaries identifying past, current, and future business plans and objectives.


  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.


  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.


  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.


  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.



Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or related field and 5 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area.


  • 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office. 4 years’ supervisory experience.



Preferred Qualifications


  • 3 years experience leading improvement projects in the ecommerce field with strong track record of delivering results


  • Experience with using structured project management methodologies that utilize the Deming improvement cycle or appropriate Project Management Certification


  • Methodological hands-on mastery of relevant analytical approaches and models


  • Experience with analytical and big data visialisation tools (SAS, R, Python , Tableau, PowerBI etc.)


  • Experience with manipulating different datasets & statistical modeling


  • Communication and presentation skills as evidenced through impactful presentations


  • Master’s degree in Business or related field.


  • 4 years’ experience working with cross-functional teams.


  • 3 years’ consulting experience.


  • Project Management certification.



•Six Sigma certification.
