Job Summary

As a Senior Operations Supervisor in the Distribution Operations Department the primary role will be to manage both Union and Management employees in order to safely and efficiently operate and maintain the electric distribution and transmission system during storms and non-storm conditions.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Technical Field OR Candidates without a degree; a minumum of 10 years' experience managing an electrical distribution system in a control room environment
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an electric utility environment in the design, planning, construction or operation of electric distribution & transmission systems
  • Experience working within an Outage Management Systen and SAS reports
  • Working knowledge of the operation and capabilities of the distribution system and various distribution class equipment such as Remote Supervisory Switches, Substation Breakers, Automatic Throw-overs, Circuit Reclosers, Reulators, Capacitor Banks, Transformers and field switches
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supervising a team with the ability to build effective respectrufl and working relationships
  • Effective leadership, team building, prombelm resolution skills and the ability to supervise others are also requied to manage a 24x7 operation
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Collective Barganing Agreement and applicable work methods
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated logical and analytical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate logical and analytical thinking skills
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license witha safe driving history

Desired:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Business
  • Experience in trouble shooting customer power quality issues and responding to electric distribution system emergencies is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the Collective Barganing Agreement for IBEW local 1049
  • The Ability to plan and control room operations is strongly preferred
